Can there be anything better than Northern Minnesota in the early Fall? Sure can...just add Carolena Nericcio and Megha Gavin and the General Skills and Teacher Training Intensives at Heart and Heara Studio in Pine River, Minnesota.


The dates for General Skills and Teacher Training are as follows:

~General Skills/One Day Pass September 9-12, 2010

Limited to 25 participants. 20 Hour course spans 4 five hour days

~Performance September 13, 2010

(more information coming, location for performance TBD)

~Teacher Training for ATS September 14-15, 2010

Limited to GS for ATS graduates.10 hour course spans two 5-hour days

~Teacher Training 2 for ATS September 16, 2010

Limited to 20 participants. One day, 5-hour course

Course Descriptions

General Skills for ATS
A 20 hour intensive presenting all 70+ steps from the FCBD ATS vocabulary along with cues, formations, lead and follow, chorus, music theory for ATS and functional anatomy for dance. Students must attend all 15 hours, no exceptions. Certificate awarded upon completion.
Limited to 25 people.
Four 5-hour days.

One Day Pass with Drills
For previous graduates of GS for ATS wanting a review, or students who are not interested in being Certified. 
Attend single days of GS for ATS. Need not be taken concurrently but students must understand that each successive day's material is built on the previous day(s) and they may be asked to take a less active role based on our assessment of their skill level.
One, two or three of the GS for ATS 5-hour days.
As space allows within the 25 person limit.
Individual day curriculum will be posted soon! 

 ATS Teacher Training*
For graduates of GS for ATS who are also teaching or performing other styles of Tribal, Tribal Fusion or Oriental Dance.
Curriculum with include instruction on how to present the concept of ATS, the steps, verbal instruction, physical cueing, assessing students needs, answering common questions, structuring a class and troubleshooting.
Limited to 10 people.
*This training is stage one for teachers interested in becoming a FCBD Sister Studio. Sister Studios teach exclusively FCBD format. Students need approval from Carolena to be considered for Sister Studio status.

 

ATS Teacher Training 2
For graduates of TT for ATS who are interested in further training via forum format.
Curriculum with include instruction on how to present the concept of ATS, the steps, verbal instruction, physical cueing, assessing students needs, answering common questions, structuring a class and troubleshooting.
Limited to 20 people.

Cost is $200 and has a $25 non refundable deposit.

Class information and handouts
Students will receive supporting materials on the first day of class. Review of Tribal Basics Vol. 1-8 DVDs is recommended.
Please bring: zils, a notebook, full skirt and choli are best but not mandatory.

Student Requirements
These courses are not for beginners. Dancers must have previous experience with some element of ATS, Tribal, Tribal Fusion or Oriental Dance.

Students must be fluent in English, no exceptions.
Students will be asked to submit a dance bio, limited to one page, upon acceptance to the program. This should include their experience with ATS, any personal comments, but not be a "resume" type listing of everything they have ever done! Just as it relates to ATS and what they want to achieve at the Intensive.
A deposit at sign up is required, as per the event sponsor.
